A Calm Crossing

30th August 2015

An early rise this morning to catch the Ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff we packed up Bessie the night before so we didn't have much to do before setting off..  Neil emptied the waste before leaving the site and topped up the water tank and we quietly slipped away hopefully not disturbing any campers forgetting to check our pitch and we left the doormat behind!

                                                               Open wide for Bessie!

                                                                    All lined up!

Our cosy cabin!

Plush restaurant on the Armorique

We booked an outside cabin last minute for an extra £35 and it was so worth it! We had a bed each for 7 hours, tea and coffee making, t.v and an ensuite shower room, great value!  Neil decided to take a couple of anti sickness tablets and they worked really well whilst onboard but a few hours later he was still spaced out and ended up going to bed early, I must remember to keep some, they may come in handy!
Neil only had to drive 7 miles to the first site with me reminding him to drive on the right and him saying "don't worry about me you just keep an eye out on your left!"
Our first site Camping-ar-kleguer.com was easy to find and close to a lovely little town called san pol de leon. The pitches are waterlogged what a surprise! We have left rain to arrive to more rain that night! One bonus though....the beer and wine are much cheaper!!
Neil came back from the mens toilets to say "there is no seat on any of the seats!" So he reckons he is going to buy a rubber ring to sit on!
The bikes came out the next day and we cycled up to the Supermarche. What a difference in price! Everything is so much cheaper here but there is only so much drink you can pack into panniers! On the way back I had to remind myself to cycle on the right hand side its easy to forget!
The weather still isn't great, not seen the sun today although it has stopped raining.  Neil has the map out to see how far Spain would be to drive to but i would like to see more of France still. We will see what tomorrow is like. There is an english family opposite us and they have 2 LOUD children! Why don't parents respect other people and ask them to be quiter?  but they never do then the parents start shouting at them because they are out of control! Thats my moan over, hopefully they will go out for the day and leave the rest of us in peace!

31st August
The SUN is out and everywhere looks so different the sea is blue and sparkling and you need sunglasses to look out the window! Apart from the lovely family opposite waking everyone on the site, it is a beautiful morning and Neil is going to cook breakfast on his favourite gadget the griddle and i think its off to the beach.

                                                         100 metres from our pitch

                                                                     Bessies Pitch
                                                              View from the Campsite

We tried out the leisure facilities on site and Neil much to my disappointment got away with not wearing his budgie smugglers! And Neil being Neil had to have a go on the kiddies waterslides!

The Pool Area

Does he look burnt?!

Today we move to our next site further down the coast to a little resort called Le Pouldu Plage near Lorient called www.camping-les-embruns.com A journey of approx 2hrs30mins which for us is just right for now until Neil is used to driving. The site is very pretty with lots of flowers and plants around even a herb garden for the guests to use. All the pitches are large multi serviced and well laid out we have a little garden area on our pitch with a cider apple tree so i have marked our space with wrapping my battery fairly  lights around the apple tree! It is nice to get the awning up again for extra space and unpack properly oh and get the bunting up!  My friends will think oh thats typical of Rachel!
Well Neil is chomping at the bit so that means food is needed we are going posh today and having scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast and then i think it will be wine crusty bread cheese and hams for lunch which has to be done in France, most people on the sites drink wine from 10am onwards i think any excuse to get a bottle out.
Bessies Pitch at Les Embruns

Just getting into the french way of life well any excuse for cheese and wine!
